My reverse lights do not work. Last night I figured that it was probably just burned out bulbs since one of the breaklights didn't work either, so I bought some replacement bulbs. I switched them last night and still no reverse lights. What do I need to check and where do I need to check to resolve this?

Thanks in advance,
Enos

Check the reverse safety switch. I know were it is on the MTX but someone else will have to help you out on the location on the ATX.

Just look it up on any of the parts store websites. They will usually call it the NSS or backup light switch.

..and fully identify your vehicle to avoid any ambiguity.

Okay I went out and bought the Neutral Safety Switch from AutoZone. Now what is the easiest way to gain access to switch itself, if anyone has pictures as to where it's located it would be a great help.

Thanks again for all the help,
Enos

It is on top of the transmission. The shifter cable is attached to it. Should be a larger nut securing the cable to the switch and two smaller bolts that secure the switch to the transmission.

You may have to adjust the switch a bit after installing it. Best way I have found is with the cable nut tightened down move the shifter to reverse. Then loosen the cable nut and the two switch bolts, adjust the switch so the reverse light come on. Then tighten down the switch first then the cable nut..

Thanks a lot guys, I finally got some time to change the switch and I have working reverse lights. Also the car seems to be shifting better than before it kicks a lot less which leads me to believe I might need new motor mounts. I love this forum, I just keep learning.

Thanks again,
Enos
