Sounds like you need to replace the Sync Module. Unfortunately it's a very common problem.

Oh, joy. I am just starting my own business and don't really want to spend $1k to fix this problem. I'll most likely just pretend my car came without navigation and voice controls for awhile.

You can get APIMs from a yard. And while you are at it you can upgrade to SYNC3. It's noticeably less buggy than SYNC2. You may have to program if it came from a car with different options but can be done for a few hundred.

Bit of an update....

So I was going to install sync 3.1 to see if it fixed the issues I was having. The install failed/self cancelled, so I did a master reset with the navigation card removed. Voice controls are back, but if I install the navigation card it kills everything again until I reset without the card. I'm thinking I may have a bad navigation card and am going to order a new one to see if that fixes it. Weird.

That is weird. At least you got voice controls back. Keep this thread updated when you get your new navi card in.
