My atx will not perform the KOER test.. Yes, I searched. There are hundreds of
threads with koer in them. None of them explains why I can't perform it.
My bap is bad, and I get some intermittent o2 codes. SO, the question is, will
a bad EGR kick it out of the KOER? It starts to run it, then the idle jumps, and
it aborts the test... I am assuming (oh no) that if the egr/bap is bad, that it can't perform that part of the test, so it stops it? If I had the manual....sigh..

On my MTX I couldn't pull a single code because the ECM went bad. It would run (sort of) but I replaced the ECM and I was able to get codes and everything.

That would be the rev limiter. I think 7200 is the limit, but don't quote me.

Your car doesn't have a "bap".

Remove the LPM and reboot the compter. Perform the idle speed relearn process that Scott has posted numerous times.

Then, attempt the KOER PCM Quick Test and see if it will execute correctly.

I have an ATX, with a Ted B. lpm.
The sensor I am referring to, is the barometric sensor that controls the EGR.
Cowsareholy and I have tried a few times to run the KOER. He is a pretty smart
ATX(former) owner. My thought is that, with a known bad sensor,(egr) the car
is kicking it out when the egr won't cycle during the test. It starts to run it, then the idle goes up,then down; and it won't finish the test....
The computer has been reset several times.... Any thoughts?

1). Get rid of the LPM module for now. Never have an auxillary device on when you're trying to solve a problem like this.

2) That is the DPFE sensor, not a "BAP" sensor.

The KOER test should be run ONLY if you can get a pass on the KOEO test. If the KOEO test doesn't pass, then you're spinning your wheels.

Thanks, I am replacing the DFPE today. If this won't clear it I will keep after it.
FINALLY got a little cash to something to it, and a day off!:woohoo:
"EDIT" Put in the DPFE sensor, $66.00... This cleared my EGR codes, but I need to
make sure that there are no stored codes.. Might have a bad O2 sensor.. sigh..
I will just keep replacing one thing a week, sooner or later she will be better than new.
