My family took off to Mexico for the week and the day they leave the furnace quits on me. The pilot lite is out and the fan is blowing cold air. It's 50degrees in here. I got someone coming tomorrow morning to fix it.
Damn its cold in here. :nut:

OK, stupid question but did you try re-lighting the pilot?

If it won't stay lit, it can often be traced to a bad thermocouple. You can get a generic one at Home Depot or Lowes for under $10, and just route it next to the old one just making sure that the pilot flame is hitting it.

And if you don't want to do that you could always go to Wal-Mart and pick up a couple electric space heaters.

Chris, Thank you for the suggestion. But honestly I really dont know what Im doing when it comes to the heater. I've "watched" my dad work on it but thats it. Im a car guy and a cabinet maker thats about it.
