Question... 92 mtx ...... runs for awhile then it looses fuel pressure and dies. Has gas, Cannot hear the pump cycle when the key on. I have switch out the CCRM and it is not that. I have cut the hole in the under the rear seat to expose the fuel pump. I hooked up a fuel pump of one I had laying around and it does not cycle either ( it is not installed, just hooked up the connection to test to see if it is power to the pump problem) Should the pump I have hooked up cycle if it is getting power? If it should then I have a problem somewhere else and it si not the fuel pump... Any ideas?

obvious is check the inertia switch in the trunk. check for power going to the fuel pump sending unit. if there is juice going to the sending unit then the unit or the pump is likely malfunctioning. if there isn't enough voltage going there then you can trace backwards from the wiring to the ccrm

That might be it. Also might be a loose wire/bad ground. You try a volt meter in various places to see if there's power getting to these parts?

Well this is new one for me. The short was along the passenger side wiring bundle. Took up trim/ carpet and exposed it, wiggled the wires around and the car started right up. I was really starting to get frustrated. The problem started with the car stalling out, no fuel pressure. had spark. Pump would not cycle at all even if you ground it at the EEC port. I am going to look at the wiring now and find where it might have shorted. A mouse may have tried to have red spaghetti dinner in there.
