Hey everyone just bought a white 91'+ last week and I love it. I really haven't had time to enjoy her though. The car has 127k on it and had it's first 60k and I just had some of the next 60k done (water pump, timing belt, seals etc.). The car will drop to low idle and sometimes will jump back up to normal idle but many times just stalls out. Now I just had a new CPS put on, checked my MAF connections and they look good and today I just replaced the speed sensor. After all that it still does it. Is there some sort of idle adjustment somewhere? I've run out of ideas. I just tried the battery connections thinking maybe it had something to do with a lack of power and I can't get a good look at the alternator connections (cause it's dark) but I sure could use some help please. Thanks in advance!

You probably need to try to reset the idle and if that doesn't work then start looking into possible reasons that it won't idle. Use the search feature at the top of the page and punch in "idle relearn procedure" only search in the engine and driveline forum and you will find a procdure to teach the car how to idle again, hope that works for you.

When it was in the shop, the guy said that he checked the codes and there were none. We were going to unhook the battery tommorrow while we finish the speed sensor. If that doesn't work, we are going to pull codes and check fuel pressure.

P.S. this is a good friend of mine. He loves the SHO and wanted one ever since his other car started dying. He finally found one for a good price and hasn't really gotten to drive it do to problems.

If the idle reset does not cure it, try running the KOER portion of the code test.

Chances are, it will post a code related to the Idle Speed Control/Throttle Air Bypass/Idle Air Control valve. This valve is responsible for idle control and they do eventually gunk up or develop weak springs.

Yeah, as Chris (speedy91sho) said I was told there were no codes. Not completely sure if there are or not cause I didn't check myself. Thanks for the idle reset stuff I'm gonna try that today and if that doesn't work gonna check codes and then see if the TB is dirty. Thanks again!

Problem solved. Reset the idle, but it still ran funny and would sometimes idle at 2k. After some looking, it was found that the cruise control hookup on the TB was holding the TB open ever so slightly. Remove CC cable and viola everything is fine and dandy.
