New to SHOs, checkin one out

Hey, how you guys doin? I'm new to the SHO game, but am lookin at one that is being sold locally, but I have no idea what to look for. I wanted to see if anyone around the Philadelphia area is able to aid me in my efforts. I'm willing to pay whoever can lend me a hand looking at the car (who knows what to look for of course). It's a 94 MTX and I don't want to buy it and have to drop a boat load into it to get it to be driveable. I recently totaled my other car so im in need. If anyone can lend a hand i'd be very very grateful, and will pay for the help. Thanks in advance!

I work at Toyota in Devon, PA so I am really close to you and also if we have the time I can put the car on my lift and we can check the undercarriage as well. My birthday is this weekend and I am leaving for Vegas tomorrow, so if no one else can help you any sooner I am willing to lend my assistance to you next week.

That would be awesome man, what days are you available next week? The main thing I'm really worried about is the tranny. The clutch is destroyed and I heard a slight whining sound while driving, which, I'm hoping is simply just a TOB but I don't know the difference between that going bad and a diff going bad because, from what ive read, they sorta sound the same symptom wise. Happy bday too, enjoy Vegas, it's a blast

I'm pretty much free after 6pm Monday through Saturday after work. What time are you and the seller available? Is this a friend who you are buying the car from or is it a dealer? And when you say the clutch is "destroyed" what exactly do you mean? When I think of a destroyed clutch I see my last three clutches when the TOB wore through more than half the teeth on the PP and the clutch disc was *****. Generally you can hear a differential whine while driving and it changes with an increase or decrease in speed. And the TOB will either get louder or quieter when you are either engaging or disengaging the clutch.

It's not a friend, I just met the kid when i went to see the. He said he's available all day everyday, as am I for the most part. By destroyed i mean that The car was rough finding where it catches and you'd have to rev it up higher than normal so that it wouldn't stall out. I honestly can't really remember when I heard the sound, I drove it a couple weeks ago. It wasn't overly loud, just a little noticeable
