New Sync screen question

Hello everyone and Happy Holidays. I have a yellow tint on my nav screen and was advised to replace it. My question is will the new screen need programmed? I see several Ebay listings saying it may. I just want to know what to look for and what to expect. I love this forum. I'm learning things about tuning I never even considered. It's nice to have a community of like minded folks sharing their knowledge. This is my first SHO and I am confident it wont be my last. I'm pretty addicted.

I would avoid non-OEM screens. Buy a used screen from a low mileage 2019. Use car-part.com or eBay. It should not need programmed. From my understanding, that is all in the APIM.

Search these threads for apim, there're the right and wrong ways, ine was the wrong way. Amazon and eBay loaded with recalled APIMs from def recalls. Also watch that guy's YT channel from link I posted.

Thank you for the replies. My SHO is a 2010. I dont see any Sync 3 upgrades. Also I'm not sure if a 2019 sceeen would work

Ok u have gen1 4.2" screen - ebay for a replacement screen

That's not of 4.2 inch screen. The 4.2 is not a touch screen.

That is correct sir. It is an 8 inch screen. I see them on Ebay for Lincolns too. The part number is DP8W-4200. Is this what I need? It's fairly involved to remove it just to see before I order.
