I am getting my car back today from the dealer. They are doing the trans tsb, fixed the lumbar in my seat, and also a suspension fix. People have said when the car goes in the dealer, the strategy code changes. Rick did the initial flash for me in person so I didn't pull the strategy code. How can I tell if it has changed? I installed the software on my PC, and updated it. I just need to know if the strategy code changed, and then Rick can email the new tunes when he gets back to work next week.

I pulled the strategy code from my car. How can I compare if it to the strategy code that's in the tuner now? It allowed me to the screen to load up the tune, but I didn't try it for fear of messing up my car.

You need to provide Rick with the new vehicule info that you can obtain with the SCT device under vehicule info (VIN, etc.). And Rick will send you updated tunes accordingly, which you will be able to upload in the device and install iin your car like you did the first time. That is important to do that so that the device records the stock file of your car.
Hope it helps,
Sheers Bill,
Steve

Please tell me you flashed back to the stock tune before taking it to the dealer...?

If the strategy code is different now than it was before, the tuner will not recognize the car... but it's still locked to the old strategy code. Your tuner is useless until you pay SCT a fee to "unlock" the tuner.

And for the love of God, always put the stock tune on whenever you take the car to the dealer.

Yes my car went back to stock before going to the dealer. I know better than that.

I have heard from Rick someone flashed their car with his tune after he got it back to the dealer and it ran really bad. He found out the strategy code changed and sent him the new tunes, and all was better. I looked over the invoice and it says "Reprogram PCM", so I guess that answers that my question. I will wait until I hear from Rick on Monday.
