I finally got rid of my crappy RS-As and had these mounted about an hour ago: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Eagle+ResponsEdge

Even after paying for S&H and a mount/balance fee I STILL saved about $35 over buying them locally. Not including the $40 Gift Card Goodyear is offering. Tire Rack rules. :)

First impressions: More straight line stability than the RS-A. The initial turn-in of the RS-A was probably a little quicker but once the ResponsEdge starts turning it grabs hold and turns RIGHT !@#%ing NOW. Their bite after initial turn-in is tight - in comparison I would rate the RS-A "mushy" in this area. The effort required to get the same steering angle is also less with the ResponsEdge compared to the RS-A.

I never would have expected a "grand touring tire" to have less sidewall flex than a "performance tire" but they do. (must be that carbon fiber in the outer sidewall... ) The ride is a little cushier than the RS-A at the same pressure which is nice. Tire noise is also down quite a bit.

I've only put about 10 miles on 'em so I'm sure I'll have more to say about them in awhile. But I am definitely impressed so far. :thumb:

Good deal.

I still haven't made it to Omaha this summer. Sucks, I was there for well over 40 days last year total.

Yeah, the first thing I did was a series of evasive maneuvers/abrupt lane change tests in Home Depot's huge parking lot (pretty much empty at 2:30pm on a weekday) then a couple on/off ramps at speed followed by a little bit of interstate driving between Dodge & Fort then back home on city streets.

Like I said, so far I'm very impressed. Looks like I might get to try them out in the rain tomorrow...
