Well it is time to put the new shoes on the SHO and am looking at Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Has anyone tried these? Plan on running 235/45/17's on 17x7.5 wheels I have and wanted to get opinions. I have seen comments on Yokahama's and Dulops.....what else have you tried that you had good experience with?

My best results by a solid margin have come from Bridgestones for many years now, and every time I try something else (as I have on right now) I end up regretting it and shifting back to one of the performance Bridgestone models as soon as I can. My driving tends to be very aggressive on the curves of the back roads, so a tire for that is my focus and the Bridgestones always seem to end up fitting it best.

In that price range, in addition to all the things a good tire should do - - it should sweep out your garage on the weekends

I have seen 245/45/17's on a set of TD's I think they were 7.5 wide and they were perfect. They were on Inkertinker's black gen3.

Tires are, IMO, one of the few places where you actually do get what you pay for. Cheap tires produce poor results. Expensive ones produce very good results. Medium produce medium results.

I have run 245x45x17s and have very good results with them on 8" rims. 7.5" should be OK also, for most models, but you should check the suggested rim width range for each particular tire model, as they do vary.

The only concern I had was with the 35 mm offset and running a 245 so I was going to stick with a 235.

Yes, I see. Nothing wrong with a 235 at all, though, and there is a good selection in that size. I am not sure if it would be a problem with the 245s or not. My 17" wheels were 42mm offset.

Anyone know the maximum tire width you can get away with using a 35mm offset on a 45 series profile tire and a 17 inch wheel?

My gen 1 has 17x8's with 235 on them with a 30mm offset. You cant run anymore tire without scrubbing.
