I looked at the Quaife paperwork I have and the part number on it was 56.309.170, but that is probably the Autotech driveline part number (that's the company paperwork that came with the Quaife). I didn't recognize the Quaife part number, but it does pop up on a Shoforum search. I already have one, but if I was to buy another, I would probably ask more questions to the seller.

Awesome find. My Wagon could use a Quaife. What questions should I be asking?

I would ask for actual pictures of the Quaife so you can see the part number on the box and verify its the right Quaife. There are some drawings of it somewhere. They have not been made for a long time so it is surprising two have popped up. Try doing more searches with that part number.

One thing to keep in mind, buying a new Quaife means that it will have to be installed in your tranny. Take a look at the Shonut Performance site to see what parts are needed for the install. I had Mike at Shosource install mine so there is a cost for the installation unless you can do it yourself.

I saw these listed a while back, but I never inquired if the part number was correct because I wasn't going to buy one. IIRC they were listed when the wavetracs were available and I didn't think anyone would buy them if they could get a wavetrac or the same price.

If you've ever disassembled a trans to weld diff pins. It seems that the hardest part of this install is removing the old differential bearing races and installing them. I also read a post by Gary Morell that it's better to shim the differential a few thousandths tight since the steel expands at a different rate than the aluminum transmission case. When I install mine i'm going to follow his direction. All the information is available here if you do it yourself.

I wonder if these are one of those ebay ads where you order it and then they come back and say they can't get it. If you look at the shipping info it says 29 or more business days.

Looking at Josh's website, he is still showing the Wavetrac as an item you can order

Mike did the install about 5 years ago, maybe longer. I was just down there this past summer getting some other work done. You can email him on his Shosource website email.

Cool. Thanks. I’ll have to set something up when I get ready to drive down there and pick up a gen 3 subframe swap kit
