Okay, so I just hooked up my new stereo, ran the amp bypass, and checked everything... turned it on, and I had the back speakers... No big, I can deal untill I rewire and put new speakers and an amp in it (nothing majorly loud, just for some good windows down, high speed wind, ROCK)... So, I decided to take out the Amp, since it aint needed. Well, I took out the rear seat (I'm 6'10", thats the easiest way for me) and got to work... When I got it all disconnected and removed (The little black box connected to the amp(s?) too) I turned on the car to see if everything still worked... I was down to 1 rear speaker then... Okay, so I hooked everything back up... Still one... I'm lost guys. Any ideas why it's only got 1 speaker now? I checked connections, and from what I could tell, everything was alright.

Heres a pic of what I took out. I could'nt tell what there's 2 for... Maybe I'm dumb. Oh yeah, I don't have a pic of the black box mounted below these 2 amps, but it only looked like a capacitor or something for them... I only saw power wires coming to and from it.

Theres a 4 channel amp and a Sub amp, if you tear out everything you should be left with two cables, one that went into the right side of the amp to the right and one that went into the left side of it (from the trunk view). The Right cable goes to the head unit and the left cable splits off into each individual speaker, make sure you're getting a good connection with your bypass cable and none of the pins are pushed out the back of the block.

Stupid JBL system.

Run your own speaker wires. The backs are a breeze...the front pass is a breeze...the drivers door...not so much.

did you hook it into the regular taurus harness, or did you buy the amp bypass harness and use the JBL wires?

:oogle: What you talkin bout Willis? LOL Umm... All I know is I got the harness to bypass the amp, and I put it into the wires that plugged into the amp.

Long greay, square black. Yeah, I had some problems with the square black one... I checked the wires though, and they didn't seem to be pushed out... Is there a better way to conneect that POS connector?

Hmm, trail the cables to the rear speakers, see if one got cut somewhere, make sure it didn't get pulled out the back of the speaker while you were tugging on stuff. Other than that. yea, Just run straight cables from the deck.
