Just picked up my 2013 SHO today and wanted to introduce myself (yesterday actually since it's after midnight here). My car is pretty much loaded; 402A option package, SHO performance package, nav, moonroof, and multi-contoured seats. White platinum tri-coat. I'm pretty happy with it so far!

Next will be looking into performance upgrades - very interested in the Hennessey MaxBoost 445 package, and I see people here are very into the Livernois upgrades. Haven't had much time to research between the options but would be very interested to hear you thoughts on which route to go. Any other options that I haven't seen yet also? Let me know. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, and I think you'll be happy with your vehicle choice.

As for the Hennessey package, I recall reading another thread here regarding the Hennessey and the general consensus it's overpriced for what you get. Starting with a performance tune will likely get you everything you really want for less cash outlay.

D'oh, I just saw the typo in the thread title. If a mod could change "Memeber" to "Member" it would help me look less challenged!

Best tuners are Torrie @ Unleashed Tuning and Dan @ Livernois. How far you want to go depends on who and what you chose.

Hennessy is not able to tune 2013's at this time to my understanding.

I looked at Hennesey package, pretty expensive, had a local Ford mechanic add an Airaid cold air intake & Borla exhaust system to my 2010. Sounds great & he figures realistically picked up 40HP without effecting warranty issues. Did about a month ago, seems to have increased mileage about 1MPH, but that not why I did it. My SHO was just too quiet, wanted those big horses to make some noise.

40 HP with an Airaid and exhaust? Sounds optimistic.

The Airaid site claims 9 HP ( I just installed mine yesterday and did not notice any real seat of the pants difference). I just bought it to enhance my Livernois tune, which is a clear seat of the pants difference. Livernois or Torrie is the way to go for big gains relatively inexpensively. 31 HP for the exhaust seems like a lot, but I don't know......

HAH!!

Borla claimed 32 HP for the original V6 SHO catback way back in '89!!

Think they moved the decimal place..... "3.2" HP would be believable!!

IMO, catbacks are for sound. Mfrs don't leave HP on the table there anymore.

you all might be right 40hp high, my guy said w/turbos should be that, but he loves all fords & couldn't wait to get his hands on my sho so he could drive it. anyway hennessey 445 seems a lot too, but with the tune who knows. all i know is my dealer said would void warranty where with what i did warranty ok, real important when you extended warranty to 7 yrs & i'm sure some will think foolish, but mine was built in dec 2009 & was worried about ecoboost long term.

WELCOME! I would say a CAI & Exhaust may be worth up to 10 HP combined... But HEY!~!!! It's visual and noise fluff... and that is worth the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuning won't affect the small things... but on big issues... Help Me.... Help Me.....
They can't tell if you tuned it... but can tell how many time's ECM has been flashed, and how many key turns (Starts) have occurred since last flash.

Unless there are MFG defects, a canned tune from Unleashed or Livernois will not hurt your engine. Unfortunately, if you're tuned/modded and those defects show up... like the rear seal issue in Pontiac G8's (3 GM TSB's) you will still get stuck with paying for it, plus a flagged Warranty.

Welcome! The 2013 ECM is a little different so I doubt Hennessey can program it. I know for sure Livernois can, and Unleashed maybe able to.

I love the sound of my exhaust and went from 13.5 to 13.33 after adding exhaust. I think it lets you build up power/spool turbos faster rather then raising max power. Glad I did it! These things are so quiet stock you cant even tell they are running.

The F-150 ECM is similar to 2013 ECM... Torrie & SCT have cracked the 150ECM so the 2013 SHO and other EB 2013's will follow shortly.

And then you can spray Nitrous and E-85 together... and be the fastest of the fast!!! LOL!!!
