OK since you other guys have been the "crash test" dummies before, I guess it is my turn. I spoke to Alberto and I am going to buy and test the chip. The plan is this:

1 - Dyno test a run before the chip
2 - Dyno after the chip is installed
3 - Send the chip back for the "final flash" and dyno again to see the total improvement.

I will let you guys know the results but it is obviously going to be a little bit before it all said and done.

SHOZ123, while I am at it, I am going to get some numbers with the VAK and without the VAK as well. If doesn't cost too much, I will simulate a day and night run with the VAK because it will obviously do more for you at night due to all the power drians at night.

I will keep you posted and will take me a little bit to get the chip and to get the time reserved.

This sounds like a good development, and i will look forward to hearing the results, as I am sure many of us will.

" I am never more than 10% off "

Of course, on our cars, 10% can be 1.5 seconds. wink

By that I mean when you have changed MAF's....the MAF function with an aftermarket MAF is different on every car, since orientation of the MAF, or the amount of bends or pipipng before or after it makes a difference. So I try to estimate and get you that clsoe on the firdts burn, onmost cases. Then, if it is off, we correct it. Assuming the car does not have issues, it only takes one or two correcitons more most of the time to dial it in.

Paul, when you had the t/c cycling removed from your original chip, as you mention, where there any other effects of this particular alteration? Alberto indicates the design intent is to minimize the "feel" of the AC clutch coming on. Does your modified version have a difference in the feel for the AC as it cycles in and out?

No ill effects, just smooth cruising.

And I would like to add that I had a FordChip that was good to go right out of the box. No issues and there was little benefit to dyno tuning when that was done too. Although I do run a bit lean at WOT. This included the change in gearing and all the goofy mods I have done. I feel that FordChip had the necessary background to work with the Ford EEC-V program and that Alberto will not have the problems the other chip producers have had.
