My wife and I just lost our Trailblazer SS to a worthless thief and are looking at a SHO Taurus as a replacement. I just started looking over the TSB info. Is there anything I need to look out for looking for a used SHO? I see a 2010 model at a local CARMAX that I may go test drive soon and any advice is welcomed. I'll take a peek at the classified to see if there are any for sale as well, but shoot me some PM's if any of you guys are selling as well. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Patrick

Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear about your TBSS, may they find themselves encrusted in oil spill! As far as SHOs go, look for a unit with a Ford CPO warranty. Most places will give you a 30 day period to iron out any issues, dealer or not.

You want all the TSBs performed, and all the PCM calibrations brought uptodate before you buy. Also look for maintenance records and an OASIS report in addition to the CarFax/Autocheck report that will likely be provided. Depending on mileage, it could be due for a trans/PTU/RDU flush and spark plug change.

When you drive it, it shouldn't have hesitation shifting, shuddering, or "loss of power". Usually fixable through a PCM update or a tune. A less than smooth ride could mean the shocks/struts are leaking.
