Hi, first time SHO owner here in MA. I already have found some great info on here. It looks like this car has been owned by a few forum members in the past. It needs some work but has zero rust. I will start messing with it in the spring. For now, I'm just trying to learn what I can about these cars.

Any advice? Should I sell it before I get in too deep?

Get a Helms manual, learn all you can in the meantime, and enjoy the experience.
Looks like a good one from here (as long as all that white stuff is snow), and it looks like it has received a lot of attention in the past (with the colour matched intake and shock tower brace).
Good find.

Welcome, looks really clean. Do you know what mods have been done to the car?

It is a 92 that I believe has a 3.2 swap. When I bought it I was told it was a 3.0 but it looks like there was some grinding done to the cylinder head just behind the alternator. Then while searching the forums, I think I found the car for sale previously.

I am not sure what the car has for parts now. Some of the performance parts have been removed over the years. The brakes and suspension look stock now. I would love to know more about it if anyone knows. Not sure how the poor car ended up in MA.

It was owned by Ashley MTX (Shospazz92's wife) for awhile. I believe they bought it without the quaife. Sam might be able to shed some life on who he sold it to and what mods were still on it when it left his hands.

Thanks! I sent him a message.

Wow...where to start.

When that car was sold to the Idiot in Massachusetts who bought it was a good running, solid car. Let me give you the run down of what the car had....

3.2 Swap
Fresh Rod bearings when it was sold last year.
Big Bore Butterflies with Ported Intake (Still on the car from what I can see)
FPS Stainless Steel Y-Pipe
Borla Catback
13'' Cobra front brakes.
Front and rear SHOshop Braces
H-Brace
26mm rear Swaybar.
Koni Strus (They are in the stock black housings, If there is a tab sticking up at the top of the strut, that is where you place the adjuster ****)
Eibach Springs
The transmission does not have a Quaife.
I replaced the clutch about 3 years ago.
I replaced every single A/C component in that car.
Various seals, gaskets, Radiator...etc.
Hardbutton EATC.
Replacement sunroof seal.
Replaced the sunroof lifter arms, however the sunroof would still close all the way unless you pushed the "spoiler" down to slide it slide all the way closed (still do that?)
I replaced damned near every bushing in that car along with the wheel bearings (Approx 3 years ago).

There was a ton more that was replaced (Alternator, Starter...etc..) , I just can't remember it all.

Now first person who owned in Mass (Michal Thomas) complained about all sorts of stuff that he was already made aware of by Brian (The gentlemen who I sold it to, who lived closed by and took damn good care of that car). He whined about the Fins on the Powersteering cooler being bent, about the weeping cam seal and about 500 other things that one should expect on a near 200,000 mile car. He put some ridiculous HID lights in the car and what appears to be an absolute worthless CAI from what I can see. The strut mounts (up front) also make noise at low speeds in cold weather, that was also a whining point on his part.

Hopefully the car wasn't stripped down to much, as it was a solid car that treated me and my wife very well. We took that car from NC to CA and back with no issues, we autocross it quite a few times and all around just enjoyed it.

The car was previously supercharged about 15 years ago when it was out in California, it then went to Oklahoma and then my wife and I bought it where it became my wife's dialy driver / project.

Let me know if you have any questions and please enjoy the car.

Wow, thanks for the info. That really helps!

I purchased the car from a high school kid. He seemed more than happy to sell.......... got the impression the SHO was not earning him much respect among his peers :) I guess 90's Fords are not for everyone.

I did pull those HID's out already. The CAI does seem to be in a spot that would not see much fresh air. Yes, that LF strut mount still makes some noise when turning......no big deal. I will have to check out the sunroof. I think the Koni's are still there. Thanks for the tip on that, the housings definitely threw me off.

It was a great car for me as well, drove it from NC to central Florida several times with no issues.
It had a gen 3 zf steering rack and a newer starter, that's about all the work I did to it.
Probably about time for a timing belt, had I kept it I was planning on replacing it soon.

Nice, I'm glad the car has so many new parts. Thanks for the heads up on the T-belt. I will try to do that soon.

I'm enjoying this SHO! I figured I would update this thread with some recent pics.

I have been working on the car in my spare time. Mostly fixing small stuff that was bothering me but did some larger jobs too. It is really nice to work on a car with zero rust! I replaced the timing belt, with new cam/crank seals, and sensors. No more oil leaks on the ground and exhaust which is great. Replacing the selector shaft seal helped with a trans. leak too. Now I don't even need to put cardboard under it in the garage......that's a plus. The car had Koni inserts all the way around but they were completely shot. I just put new Sensa-Tracs in for now. I kept the Eibach springs in there. I did have the valve covers off and was impressed with how clean the engine was. Thank you previous owners.
