New headunit

Just bought a new head unit and wiring harness adapter and cannot figure out how the wires connect to the jbl system, I have the harness adapter that came with a black and a gray, usually gray to gray black to black but the wires dont match up on the headunit to the gray adapter i think it has something to do with the jbl system...HELP:fit:

Okay - I think its the same on a 90...look on the left side of where the radio would be, in the dash and see if there are any connectors in there.

If I remember correctly, one of the adapter harness plugs will match up to what you already have - the other will match up to the plug found inside the dash.

Let us know what you find.

Sorry guys the idiot sold me the wrong harness, it said 1990 taurus but I found the right one on cruchfield

Oh, lol. You just need the standard Ford harness...should be two plugs, one gray, one black, 8 or so pins each if I remember correctly.

Maybe the Gen 1s are not set up like the Gen 2s. The Gen 2s are "dual wired", with no amp bypass needed, providing you don't wish to run the stock subwoofer (which can be wired in separately anyways).

Yeah, I have two amps I think, do you what watt they are and if I could run them to an aftermarket amp

Because the radio has it's own amp, that's probably better than the stock one. I threw all the stock shit out when I put a radio in mine.
