Well to start off just leaving off on what io strated in the other forum. I was getting frustrated trying to read the codes, but now i tried again, now knowing i am looking for a 3 digit code. I do have a superchip which doesn't seem to make much difference, i will probley pull it out tommarow and see if the caracts up again, it seems to havppen like atmost every other day, usually less. tongiuht i tried to check to codes, seems to be a few codes.. got a little confused, first it blinked 7 times, actually to fast to get an accurate count. Then it blinked : 5 1 1 1 1 4 5 1 1 1 1 4 1 1 1 2 1 1 7 1 2 1 1 2 2 1 2 6 1 5 7 2 1 1 5 4 2 1 1 2 1 1 7 1 2 1 1 2 2 1 2 6 1 5 7 2 1 1 5 4 2 ........
Seems like from the last two rows they almost match from the first row and the second. Someone posted in the last forum that the superchip is probley bringing up the code 511, but from the rest i dont know what i am getting and what is wrong. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff

Damn thats a lot of codes. Let me look up the stuff and I'll post back with what they mean. Sounds like you have a big wiring problem or your CPU is toast.

The superchip is throwing the 511

112 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is/was low or grounded

114 - IAT sensor out of range

*These 2 are probably caused by the outside temp being below 40 degrees*

117 - ECT sensor is/was low or grounded

121 - Throttle Position (TP) sensor out of range

126 - MAP or BARO sensor out of range

157 - Mass Air Flow signal is/was low or grounded

211 - Ignition PIP signal was erratic or missing

542 - Fuel pump open bad ground or always on
*Probably caused by a stall*

511 - Computer ROM Failure (Do you have an LPM?)
114 - ACT Out of self test range. If it was below 40 degrees when you ran the test, disregard.

112 - ACT Indicated Circuit Grounded (254 deg. intake temp)
117 - ECT indicated Circuit grounded (254 deg. coolant temp)
121 - TPS out of range
122 - TPS Below minimum voltage
126 - CID (cam sensor) Failure
157 - MAF circuit below minimum voltage
211 - PIP (crankshaft position sensro)Circuit Fault
542 - Fuel pump secondary circuit failure. Means the car stalled.

Sounds like a bad ground or bad computer. Or a wiring harness fault.

Pull the chip completely and reset the computer.

Then check the codes again and see what comes up.

A loose, malfunctioning, or bad-connection at the chip will cause all kinda of really weird problems.

Thanks for all that information.. Now what? LOL Guess i will start with taking out the superchip, replacing battery cables, let the computer reset, and after a while check the codes again? Then if i get any stat replacing sensors? What do you think? Or is it time for a new car? It doesn't run that bad.. just once and a while it will act up. And does stall and runs really really bad.... Hope it aint gonna get to be to much of a money pit.. I figured it out after a while, by matching the 542, and reading up on it a little from midwest sho.. Nothing that looks to pretty, Geez you guys are fast with the codes... Much appreciated.. What do i do now?

I suspect a loose/bad chip. We'll see if my suspicions are correct. Do that first and see how she runs, and if it acts up.

what sensors sound like the car needs to have replaced... Throttle position maybe? what the ECT ? Map and or baro sensor replace? Ignition PIP? Code 547, car was stalling. And mass air flow well it is an upgraded one.. I think 73mm C&L. And connector on it is a little loose. I may have been playing with it while car was running to cuase that code?

To reset the memory codes the computer stored, you have to pull the jumper (paper clip, piece of wire, whatever you are using) while the computer is flashing the codes.

Just disconnecting the battery cables wont clear the codes in memory.

Sounds like you have either a shorted sensor or an open wire that supplies the reference voltage from the PCM to all of those sensors.

The PCM has a 5 V nominal regulator built in to it to provide a stable reference voltage for every one of the sensors that your codes identified. If this circuit has suffered a failure, NONE of these sensors will have supply voltage and will cause a code to be set for each of them.

You have one of the following conditions:

1) Faulty regulator in the PCM (might be affected by the Superchip - just pull that POS and get it over with)

2) Open wire in wiring harness between PCM and the sensors

3) V(ref) short to ground caused by either a pinched/chafed wire or by a shorted sensor.

The second and thrid steps will require the use of a meter, the first does not.

Do the first step and see what happens. Once you have done that, report back.
