i have noticed that some of the clutch kits on ebay say to use a 91 flywheel. Is it better to get a clutch that needs the 91 flywheel or to get the clutch made for a 89-90 sho? also is it possible to lighten the stock flywheel rather than by a lighter one if so how much can be taken off?

If you have the old 9 1/4" flywheel, you have 2 choices:

1. Get the old 9 1/4" clutch kit
2. Get a new 9 3/4" flywheel and new 9 3/4" clutch kit.

If you already have the 9 3/4" flywheel, get the 9 3/4" clutch kit.

To tell all you need to do is pull off the starter. If you see a thick cast iron pressure plate you have the 9.75. The 9.5 one is a thin stamped steel PP.
