it was a quick 30 sec paint job..... i dont care how it looks that much....

Apparently, as it would look better unpainted. If you're not going to take it off an paint it correctly, I honestly do not see the point in painting it at all.

If the rest of the work is like the paint job, there's hardly anything to be impressed by. Putting a turbo on a car isn't exactly that hard.

Yes, you can clean, strip, repaint... But why create all the extra work and the possibility of effing something up in the process?

One word... Yikes.

Good job of making something that works, although it's not pretty but it gets the job done.

^I think some of us just believe that if you're going to do something , do it right.

If you don't have time to do it right, when are you going to have time to do it again?

Well eff you too.

The turbo work isn't what we were commenting on, it's the paint. I don't percieve that as "I busted my ass on it", when the piping wasn't even removed to paint it.

For $200, I'm sure that's a fun, yet limited turbo setup.

Being a painter, prepping is everything, I know how you feel though, the excitement of having something that once looked bad, is now kinda pretty. I hope it helped getting your excitement up to finish the car. Sometimes it is all about making "1" thing nice, then you want the thing next to it to look nice, then next to that.....etc. etc. before you know it all that is left is new carpet, a new steering wheel and some rims. Just keep it up, make the pretty thing be your motivator :thumb:

I dont get the impression that he's doing this project to impress you or anyone else on this forum. He certainly doesn't seem to be fishing for compliments, and along the same vein, he shouldn't be thrown insults. He's doing this project for his enjoyment and he's sharing it with us because he feels that this community might be interested in what he is doing, not because he's desperate for the thumbs up or thumbs down from anyone. No one is forcing you to look at the pictures, and the car is not sitting in your driveway causing shame and dishonor to you and your family, so why do you have to bust his balls just because you disagree with his methodology?

Nobody is making you read my posts, so why do you have to bust my balls because of my methodology?

Maybe it's just me, but I take pride in what I do. Painting an intake with the piping still on the car doesn't show any kind of pride. Generally, people post pictures to show off what they're doing and get some kind of praise. If they weren't, they wouldn't bother posting pics.

He himself said he doesn't care what it looks like, so why should he be so upset?

how can you say it works perfectly, it sounds like it stranded you a few times, i believe you post how it knock audibly because of the low octane fuel you run, and you always having computer issues. this is not an attack, its just my idea of working perfectly is different than yours.

it seems all of the 'I turboed my car for $***' folks have had huge engine issues. there was just a post were two of them posted pics of wrecked pistons from something not being right. all I'm saying is that boost and money mix pretty well.
