I'm making plans to get Bluie put back together. So far I have assembled the following parts:
-Remanufactured Transaxle (Thanks Bizzy)
-Remanufactured Steering Rack (Thanks Russ @ RCM)
-OE Clutch kit (Thanks RockAuto)

Now my question is what else should I consider looking at while doing this job. I'm thinking since they are the original axles maybe I should replace them just because we're in there and the miles on the CV's? Yes/No? Are the reman'd A-! Cardone parts from RockAuto decent quality?

Thoughts? Other parts?

Over the past two years I've replaced all the suspension, brakes, bushings, 60K engine maint. w/new rod bearings. trying to think of anything else that gets uncovered while the tranaxle is out...

Thanks...

If the boots are OK = NO tears & min wear, then use them.
- Rear main Seal
-Rod Shifter bushings
-all 3 MotorMounts reEnforced
-new AC lines?
-new PowerSteering Pump
--all easier when the SubFrame is out of the way!

I don't ALWAYS agree with Bill. If you hold the axle upright and the end flops around like a limp ******, there is wear.

at $60 a pop...use new ones.

Well if you decide to go for axles we do offer brand new ones: SHO Source

They are brand new, not remanufactured.

i would recommend doing them only if need be chris. I mean if you still have me doing the work, we can judge if you will need them or not after getting them out and just buy them if needed at that time.

I would do them while you are there. Why go all out on the rest and then go cheap on reusing 200k axles. Like others have said they are not expensive, so why risk it ? I replaced mine at 125k while doing struts and the 11.6 brake upgrade. But to each his own.
