Can someone exlpain to me where the low side is? The only spot I can see is the one next to the radiator cap, you guys say this is the high spot... I looked and looked still haven't found it, is it above like the other one or is it down low? Also with the switch jumped and the compressor on the air is cooler but isn't where it needs to be, do you think filling back up the freon will make it cool well again?

looking at the engine compartment from the front of the car, look at the left side, near the firewall. its about 6" in (to the right) from the hood strut location. i wouldnt charge the system any higher than specified range, regardless of where the temp reads inside the car. like everyone says, fix your leak first. not only will you be looking for black oil sludge, youll also see a neon green dye (used for leak checks under blacklight conditions).

my personal experience was i converted to 134 after having to replace the A/C clutch. i bought the retrofit kit from Wal-Mart and commenced to do the refill. it worked well, but a month and a half later, while under heavy RPMs, i heard the loudest, nastiest belt squeal i ever heard, then the engine died. i turned off the EATC, started the car back up, and went home. at home, i popped the hood only to find smoke *rolling* from the compressor. deeper investigation found i had grenaded the compressor. reason being, too much oil and improper flush of R12 to accept the R134.

One 12 oz can should not over fill the feron considering the pressure is slightly below 15 and it supposed to be 25 when full. Should I add any oil? This thing hasn't been operational since '94 but will original oil be an issue?

If it hasn't been used since 94 then you may not even have a leak. That's about nine years that it has held that charge...

Shes makes me proud, she makes me proud :D If I can get this deal for 6 12 Oz cans for 35 bucks I will just completely flush and refill, if I go this route with the oil remain or will I have to add 8 oz of oil?

Blake,

Did you even bother to read my last post?

It has all the information you keep asking for.
Yes I have, my question is if I let out all the old freon will the oil come with, I need to know what the exact procedure, where to drain it etc.

Why don't you take it to a local garage and ask them to vacum the system out? I can't imagine it would be very much. This way if it holds a vacum you know the seals are still good.

That would prolly be the best way to do it, vacuum it out then do fresh R-12 and oil throughout should cool well after that. Well thanks for all your help guys, I will just have to make the decision on which route to go at this point: 1. top off, 2. vacuum and refill.
