I could really use some help on my car. It needs an oil leak fixed, a tune up performed, intake manifold cleaned, and in a perfect world, the UDP I bought installed.

So, if there is someone in the northern California area, or western Nevada area who knows about Gen IIIs, I would be more than willing to pay for your help. I have some wrenching skills, but need some help so I don't ruin anything, and tracking down a leak. I can help, and want to learn about these cars.

I would also like to do an oil catch tank too, if possible. I had also heard that there is a particular Mustang set of COPs that if you swap the SHO boots onto, they work nice, and there are aftermarket ones that work better, and are more reliable than the stock ones.

Anyone up to helping me keep a SHO on the road?

I will grovel again. Despite my bro totaled it out twice this year, I really want to keep it. It now could use some body work too, as well as the aforementioned tune up. And some airbag help.

But the good news is it is back on the road and runs well still.

I can't help you repairing yours even if I would like to have another owner near me to share experience and help... I'm probably one of the farther guys here.

But I can give some infos.

From what I saw on my own V8, the major oil leak was from the crank seal (6$). When is leaking it's spread oil all over on other motor parts and give the impression that all the motor is leaking at the point where the strap slipped on pulleys and cloggled the strap tensionner with oil inside accumulating dust... It will need a mechanic to remove this seal probably and unbolt the tensionner to clean it (it a good thing anyway because it is on the low part of the motor). Another simply thing to remove some oil on motor is to replace the valve covers gaskets (around 50$ each) and you can do it yourself if you have some time (1/2 day).

For the oil catch can, there are some post on that here, I created one recently. I made one with Home Depot pressurized hose filter. I give you the link. I must also say that oil catch can seems accumulate oil only on cold weather as my mechanic said (I put one this summer and after many hundred miles, I still have no deposit in it...). As you live in a area a lot hotter than me, I would say at least that is not your priority.

In the case you want to let your brother completely destroy the old one. ;)
