Need some frame advise

My friend hit a street sign with his 89 sho bent the whole front of the car, right in the center. so my question is what can be bolted or unbolted in the front of the car. The sign went threw the bumper into the radiator. I want to help him fix it. I will try and get pictures of it soon. Thank you.

I would advise"my friend" if the radiator sustained damage then there is $3000 or more in damage to the car and consider junking it. At the least the front radiator support needs to be pulled out & squared up professionally. You need to replace all the parts that busted. Its possible the sub frame is ok but the uni-body will fold-in or up if the hit was in the center. The body is made to collapse in a wreck and absorb the Hit. This is a good thing. The uni-body is all spotwelded together. If any of those pieces need replacement it becomes more complicated. It may be fixable but how much? Is it realistic to fix the 17 yr old ***** ford?

It is my friend considering I have a 94 opel frost mtx and he has a 89 white sho that was a spotless southern car with no rust and only 110,000 miles on it an a new clutch 1000 miles ago.

depending on how the sign hit and collapsed the upper radiator support, it is possible to 'reverse' the damage to the front end by pulling out the upper radiator support. You would be surprised, as much of the front section will 'straighten' itself out. I have seen what appeared to be severaly wrecked cars straightened out using a couple of trees and a tow rope!

Like eveything else, you need to pull it apart and survey the damage. Pictures would be good too.

I pulled my core support, right behind the D/S headlight from a previous accident. I only had to shim the mount ~3/8". If I'da hung the b/c and header panel back on while still pulling it probably would have only taken 1 more click on the come along.
