I need to do the valve shim check and replace thing on my 93ATX. Anybody here from the Phx AZ area? I've got the motor out and on a stand, I just don't have the special tools and a selection of shims or the knowledge for that matter. I'm will to pay for it, that's not a problem. I can even put the engine in my truck and take it anywhere. I do have a nice car lift in my garage though and if this person needed to do some under car work on their car at the same time, I'd let them use it also. **** anybody with a SHO that needs to use it could. TIA

Another AZ SHO owner...sweet! As far as taking the motor out to do the valves you didn't need to do that, all you had to do was remove the intake and valve covers. I also have a 93atx and I do not know of anyone other than Ford shops to do the valves and i really dont want to pay their prices...it will have to be done though. Ive thought about doing it myself but I don't know if I really want to.

Actually, I did have to take it out because I'm putting it in an offroad race car. I love that motor. Do you need any parts off my 93 ATX?

Ahhhh! That that is soooo sick! What car are you planting the engine in? I want to see this when it is done! So as far as the SHO are you parting the rest of it out? What kind of condition is it in? How many miles...ect...

TCE is there in Az. That stands for Todd (i think) Cook Enterprises. He may very well do SHO work on the side. He sells the TCE SHO Stopper kit at the very least and is local. Get his number off venders on shotimes.

The car is a 93 ATX that ran over a tall curb. White with grey leather interior. The front seats are spoken for, one of the slicers is bent but the other three are good with very good tires on them. AC compressor is sold, and left front fender and front bumper cover are bent and broken. Other than that it runs fine ;-) . I've allready talked with Todd, very knowledgeable guy with some wicked looking cars. It didn't sound like he was interested in doing the valves.

Great to see another SHO owner from Phx.
I've always thought these engines would be killer in a sandrail setup.
Sorry I can't help with the valves as I have no experience in that area.
I plan on ordering the video and tool rental from SHO Shop (or equiv.) when it comes time to adjust the valves on my '90.

There allready is a guy that put one of the 3.0 in his rail. It's mated to a VW Bus transaxle and he went through 4 of them before he had one built up to take the HP. I haven't heard his run but he said it sounds like a Formula 1 car coming down the washes out here. My rail is made by the same guy, Jim Cunningham at Brandwood race Cars in Phoenix, and the SHO to VW adapter is allready on order. I'll post some pics when I get it in.

I think for my next project I might try a wrecked SHO with the MTX adapted to the back of a rail. What a wheelie machine!!
