I replaced my plug well seals, plugs, and wires today. I get finished and start the car first it starts sputtering like it wants to stall. Then it idles high at 2500 rpms when I give it gas it's fine I drive it it's fine but when I let it idle in park it sputters. Then it stalled once in park, It seems like it's not firing in all cylinders I'm not getting a check engine light. I need alittle help. Thanx in advance. I have a 95 ATX.

Double-check your plug wire routing, it should look like this:

Then check all your ground path connections and vacuum line connections.

Let us know what you find! :)

I checked the plug wires their right, I checked for trouble codes, none. I'm going to get a smoke test to check for vacuum leaks in a couple days but I can't figure out whats wrong. I'll write back after I get the smoke test done any other suggestions are appreciated. I did not replace the intake gasket because it seemed fine, could that be the problem? Oh yeah when the engine's cold it dies when I warm it up it stays running but it idles crappy.

Did you torque down the intake to head bolts?

If you removed the throttle body from the intake during your work, make sure the IAC ports are clear at that connection. It might be something as simple as the gasket or debris blocking the port (I once put in throttle body gasket backwards while half asleep after some work once, and it did pretty much the same thing).

It's funny (and a little embarasing) how the little stuff can throw things off. I torqued down the intake bolts and it runs fine now. Thanx Blue-BY-U, did I mention how much I love this site. :thumb: It still doesn't start as well as I thought it would considering I cleaned out the plug wells.

It takes about 5 seconds of holding the ignition all the way before it finally turns over, and once it didn't seem like it was going to start so I let go of the ignition and it just kicked on.
