Changed oil today and saw on the lower engine cover I was missing 1 grommet and locking screw. After a stop in my local dealer they informed me I cannot purchase just the grommet and screw, but have to purchase the entire lower engine cover for $200.

My question to you guy's, does anyone know where I can just get the grommet and screw?

Thanks!

Forget the parts guy. Talk to a service technician. There must be a suitable replacement screw if it's not available separately.

Haven't had this happen on the SHO yet, but I know on my previous cars I was able to go to pepboys and they had some generic ones that I was able to pop right in and they worked just fine.

You know, this is the kind of stuff that just makes you wonder what the bean counters and engineers are thinking about when they do something this stupid. Why not just use a dzus fastener that has been around for ages??

So far no luck with just the grommet and bolt. Everyone I have talked to said there are no part numbers for them. It is part of the lower engine cover.

Even Torrie is having a tough time.
