for stock speaker specs check here- http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/mod...e=article&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&sid=216

the only thing is jsut because a speaker is listed at that size doesn't mean it will fit, a lot of electronics online stores have fitment guides, i use two or three, compare them to make sure they're accurate, then write down what i want and buy it somewhere else thatls cheaper (i've had a lot of luck with etronics.com).

as for speaker reccomendations, that depends on your price range. pioneer and alpine are good brands, infinity is better. dont know much about audiobahd pyle or kenwood, i'd stay away from sony xplods. and any of the random names brands in the 10-20 dollar /pair range probably wont be much better than stock.

I bought some Audiobahn 6.5s and they sounds absolutley terrible. Theywere $40 shipped and I would ahev ben much better of paying the extra $30 for Infinitys. The Kappas I have in my Jeep right now are simply amazing.

I had MB quart Componenst in my odl SHO and they were a notch above the Infinitys. Basically, as the old adage goes "you get what you pay for". I believe you can find Infinity References or Kappas on Ebay for $50-$100 depending on size.

depending on what "not breaking the bank" is i would go with a good 3- way (infinity or pioneer, etc)...MB Quart definitely is closer to the top of the list. im w/ biggcmass on this one you defintely get what you pay for. Go to your nearest "stereo shop" they will be able to tell you what will be best for your car and placement and you can look over some nice options.

When i ran my infinity reference (6.5 up front/5X7 in back), with the "premium sound" amp, and my aftermarket panasonic HU (probably not the best HU around)...i thought it sounded damn impressive..i'll vouch for infinity..and when i bought them at circuit city..they were doing the buy on pair, get the second half off deal...so they werent terribly expensive.

Plus i think they're just pretty :D
