I am getting my seats re-covered. The upholsterer got the covers off but to avoid sewing the area under the bolster while it is on the seat he wants to get the bolsters off so he can just slide the cover over it.

I took a look at it and it looks like there are two tabs that hold the sliding portion of the bolster on to the track but depressing them doesn't release it. There are two screws holding it on as well, but you can't get to them while the bolster is in position. The whole assembly is soldered onto the seat itself.

Any ideas? I can't drive my car until these dumb seats are done!

When I did mine, I just pulled the foam off the plastic base of the bolster, that gave me enough clearance to roll the cover over them. Hope that helps!
