Tonight I go to leave my friends house, and my car feels like it doesn't start right. Kind of sputterin, and when I give it gas, it has no power. I turn it off, re-start it, same thing, feels like I'm missing a plug or something. I drive about a mile home, I stop, car is smoking white smoke, and when I look under the car, the Y-pipe ******/flex pipe is glowing bright red. It drove fine earlier in the day, I drove it to my friends house, to a car wash, hosed off the engine with the car running, drove it back to my friends house and it sat there for a good 8 hours. We adjusted the valves monday night, and it ran fine tuesday and wednesday.

Friend says its an exhaust blockage, and is almost certian that is what it is.
Anyone else have any ideas? What could have caused an exhaust blockage out of no where?
He told me if I drive it with the exhaust blockage, I could burn up my valves, etc.

Suggestions, please..

In all honesty, sounds like a Cat went bad. Might have been because you got some water in your plug wells causing a misfire. Pull the plugs and check out the situation.

What should I look for in the plug wells? Wouldn't everything be gone by now? From talking to someone, I'm going to unbolt the flex pipe tomorrow, smack the cats a little bit, and start the car and see what happens, if worse comes to worse, I might be looking for a y-pipe soon.

Just don't spray at an angle onto the plug boots at full pressure and be careful around electrical connectors...

I have been wasing all my motors this way... Never had a problem. I do it about once evey month or two.

Anyway, back to my problem.
I took off the front three plug wires today and had a little bit of water in the wells. I dried most of it up with towels and air hose. Car is still sputtering and what not, I didn't check the rear plugs because, I dont feel like taking the whole intake off.
I was under the car and knocked on the cats a little bit and didn't hear anything rattling. I was going to unbolt the cat-back after the flex pipe, But I dont seem to have the right sized socket.
