sunny San Juan Bautista,
Standing in front of the radiator look at the top right hand side of the radiator. The rectagular box mounted just below the little emmisions label shelf (whatever the proper name is it escapes me at the moment) is the ICRM (integrated control relay module). Also has another acronym that people sometimes use. The fuel pump relay is actually inside this box. Hope you got the entire ICRM unit as a rebuilt rather than just some generic fuel pump relay.

hi i'm steve joe's brother the one who acutally replaced the fuel pump with needing too. but i have looked all around in that area and still don't see the box your talking about i have taken two boxes part and still no luck. but when i looked at the info thats right there in front of the car when u pop the hood it says there is a fuel pump shut off switch...it reads...if the switch is inadversaity activated the car will not start or may stall...in my case not start...for location and reset instructions please refer to your manual. thats it...so if some one with the same car as could please look in their onwers manual cause i don't have one...and look what it says i would a appeachiate it

The fuel pump inertia switch is located in the trunk on the driver side panel, aft of the wheel bulge. The switch is inside a well labeled hole.

The integrated control relay module (ICRM or ICM) is immediately under the driver end of the plastic panel mounted above the radiator. You must remove this plastic panel to access the module. It is about 4"x6"x1.25" in size and has a large, bolted electrical connector attached to its passenger face. If you can tap the module with the ignition key ON and hear the pump run, the relay is the culprit.

ok i know i must sound like a ***** but i found the box that fits your discription and when i opened it up there is like 4 female plugin fuse thing. the one that i got from murrays has no way of fitting cause it to big and its a male connecter fuse. but on the top of that box there is like a repair sticker on the top saying the date "14:26:57 27 nov 1998" so i think they had it replaced and maybe ford or who ever did it gave a different one or something that fitted...cause there is no other connectors around that i could find. yesterday i was looking through the wholecar in and out and couldn't find it

The relay box is not meant to be repaired either by the the owner or by a mechanic.

It is a "swap it out" module that can go to a repair center for testing and repair.

You cannot replace just the relay in the box with anything that you can purchase over the counter.

That said, it IS possible to splice in a relay external to the box. Plans have been posted somewhere but I don't recall where right now. The downside to doing this is that it opens up the insullation on the wires in the harness and leaves the possibility that corrosion will set in.

Take the relay back and inform them that it is not replaceable.

Does the pump ever turn on?

Have you checked the inertia switch?

yeah so then if i can't fix the switch how much would a new one cost?...just so i don't get taken buy somebody...i have checked the inertia switch and i don't think thats the problem. but the car will not start because of whats happening. before this happened the car would have supractic hessitations that would come and go.the car would want to stall under load. but if it is the inertia switch what can i do to it to test if thats the problem. thanks for all the help

Quit trying to throw parts at it and hope you guessed right.

You can use my guide here Fuel pump troubleshooting along with the schematic and a meter to determine the actual fault so you can fix it properly. The circuit in the 93 is very similar to the description in my old post.

I just replaced that relay box and it cost me about $133 plus taxes at my local Ford dealer in Houston.
