Need help on atx shifter please

I have searched and can't seem to find any threads on how to remove the atx shifter ****. Mine is loose and rotates in place. The car shifts fine but I want to take a look under the center console. Or could something else be going on?

on the back side of the shifter there's a c clip on there feel for a slot on the back side of the shifter handle really thin long nose pliers worked for me
