need help identifying this part.. pic included

So tonight I was taking the fuel rails off and after so... below the injectors was a harness connected to something on the block and i barely touched it with 1 finger and it just fell off. It was completely rotted off.

Here is a picture cause I need help identifying the part so i can order a new one.

Does the knock sensor fail very often? My car pings like **** unless I put premium AND additive to bring up octane. I was thinking it might be carboned up, as the previous owner only drove it around town (180,000miles of commuting). Did your car knock when you stepped on it before you tore it down? Thanks
