You talking about the one that runs sorta parallel to the body under the rocker panels?

Is the rod broken/corroded through or is it loose?
Unfortunately, none of the above. My after hours mechanic beside a 3-foot breaker bar And small torch would do the job. He definitely need a bigger torch because he snapped the threads right off the thing. He has a bad habit of breaking parts that are one of a kind and hard to find.

You need a used one. Chad has a link to shosource above and they should have one. Dan in Pittsburgh SV&HOdan on this forum might be able to get you one also. Look for his posts in the classifieds section and send him a message. Someone will have one.

There are flat spots on the bar to get a tool to grip and keep it from rotating while you tighten/loosen the fasteners.

At the age of the components and climate where you are, I'm not surprised there was an issue removing one of the nuts. The threads down there are exposed to all that salt, water, and everything else.
