need help fast

ok my ignition is staying on it well not turn off i just replaced the ignition switch and i still have the same problem also the car wont start. someone help me

You may need a new solenoid for your starter

ok now since i took one of the cables that go to the starter of the postive side of the battery the ignition go off and on like its suppose to.now could the solenoid for your starter cause this this to happen.
