The radio in my 1993 SHO is starting to malfunction. I would like to replace the unit with a OEM ford compatible unit. I guess that it is the Ford premium sound head unit that came stock with the SHO. What other models will fit and work with the remote controls on the dash? I searched Ebay and other sources and found several radios that look the same. Which ones will work?

Thanks,

There are alot of different options that you can take.

#1. Replace the headunit with the same kind that you have. Providing its for the Premium Sound setup and the same year as yours.

Or option #2. You can go aftermarket but you will need the Premium Sound installation harness with amp bypass cable.

It all comes down to how much $$$ you want to invest. You can stay factory or you can go aftermarket and take the radio with you when you sell your SHO. IF you do go aftermarket, it opens the door to updating your sound system. You can get better interior speakers and possibly a sub woofer for added bass in the trunk. But keep in mind it gets pricey if you go that route. I spent almost $3,500 on my sound system that gave me over 1000 watts of power.

I have a radio if you are interested. It was working last time it came out. It is for a premium setup not JBL. If you want it email me.
