Anybody know where I could get a good standard/standard 3.0 crank? You can tell from my last post date that I have been inactive- so has my car. The engine I put in my car spun a rod bearing more than 2 years ago, now I am finally over the hatred and ready to fix it..... again.

If by other applications you mean the 3.0 and 3.2 SHO motors...then yes. However, the SHO crank is specific to the SHO. Your best bet is to find a used SHO motor without a spun bearing and rebuild it, and toss your motor with the spun bearing.

I think if you post in the parts wanted section you will find quite a few people with spare cranks. I have one from a 3.0 that is available but I'm all the way on the east coast. They are pretty heavy so shipping would not be cheap. See if you can find one a little closer to home.

I've got a good spare crank... It needs some repair work on one of the counter-weights, but otherwise is in really good condition.

The 3.0L and 3.2L crank are the same so you can use a crank from either engine. At this point id say take all your 3.0L stuff and find a good 3.2L bottom end, youll love the extra grunt of the 3.2 over the 3.0:thumb:

I was considering the 3.2 swap, and there is a 3.2 for sale local, but thought the head gasket sets required for this swap were $$$$$$$$. Am I wrong?

They used to be - now they are $100 for a pair. Pretty fair price. Buy the 3.2, swap your heads and be good to go.

And don't forget to slap some new rod bearings in it! :thumb:
