name that coolant hose

i have a coolant hose that was leaking, it goes from back of engine into firewall, it is metal, u-shaped and has a sensor on it. anyone know what which hose this is and where i could get it?

Yes, it is a heater hose. The sensor is the CELO (Cold Engine Lock-Out) that prevents the blower from giving you frostbite when the engine is too cold.

Since you didn't give enough information as to your car, it is impossible to identify the correct part number.

chiltons manual calls it the heater hot water tube, but not sure what to look for when ordering it

What part of the "hose" is leaking? At each end of the metal tube is a piece of hose that is clamped to the tube with a "crimp" type of clamp.

The clamp can be cut away, and the rubber piece of hose can be replaced with "bulk" standard auto parts store hose (5/8 or 3/4).

The replacement rubber hose can be held by a standard hose clamps.

If the tubing is leaking it can be soldered or brazed with a splice or a patch. The whole tube and hose will be difficult to find as a new part and expensive. Take a good look at repairing it first. rangerj

thanks for info ill take a look at repairing it, i think (before i took it off car) it was leaking at the clamp.

rock on! i just finished it with an new hose and clamp for 0.99 cents! thanks for the advice! now back to the valve adjustment
