I am trying to decide if I should go with S/C or N2O, I know what modifications I need for the S/C but for N2O is the same? I was wondering can I just slap a 75 hp N2O on a stock engine with a stage 3 slutch?

No. You would need copper plugs, atleast 2 ranges colder then stock. Aside from that it is really a plug and play mod.

I ran a 100hp ZEX Dry shot on my last 1990 SHO with no problems. I only dropped one heat range on the copper plugs but I did switch to cooper plugs (available at any parts store), also replaced the fuel filter and ran a bottle of Berrymans B12 Chemtool through the gas tank after replacing the fuel filter.

Once the maintaionce was up to par I had 0 issues with nitrous.

Autolite copper 3923. Love those plugs and they are cheap. Stick to them and you'll be fine. Alternately you can get some autolite copper 3922 which are another degree colder and will resist detonation more.

The one Nitrous equipped SHO I rode in had a LPM burned so when the Nitrous was armed timing was taken out of the engine to help prevent detonation.

I also have 100hp jettings for my Zex kit. Ran it through a couple times with no apparent issues.

How do you take the timing out of the engine? Wouldn't you want to leave it in there? I hate running my car with missing pieces. :)

run a 75 shot all day on my daily SHO with 170k.

Make sure you get all the maintanance done.

Bigger fuel pump and I run the denso spark plugs.

Total cost $500 with used Zex Kit.

Run a couple tanks with B12, not just one. You don't want a dirty injector cutting off fuel flow.

cooper plugs are recommended more because they are cheaper (so you can replace them more often) and copper dissipates heat faster than iridium, platinum, etc...

Fancy plugs may work well but so do the cheaper copper plugs.

Cheap copper plugs are the best spark, period. The advantage of other plugs would be how long they last (25-35k mi for copper, 100k for platinum) not that they create a "better" spark...

the fordbastards crew had a member blow his motor at 125 shot on stock programming.

Last time I was in the SHO scene I saw Doug @ FPS had a direct injection wet kit set up on his....I know this won't sound right but I coulda swore he said it was a 200hp shot or so. The problem was all in the injection method. Once he mounted the nozzle in each runner the fuel wouldn't puddle and lean out 1 and 3 cyl.

I may need my facts straightened out though...dont quote me unless Doug posts.

Last time I talked to Mark N. I believe he said he ran some jettings that put him over 100HP, but I can't remember if he did it by accident when first learning about nitrous or what the situation was.
