Thanks broAny transmission can be used, with an adapter plate and other modes. There is nothing that will just bolt up. Using the SHO transmission makes the CV axle choice easy.
Otherwise there are some Duratec 5 speeds (Contour SVT?) that I believe will bolt up to the motor, but you will need to engineer axles, mounts, and shifter. Possibly clutch.
If you would like to pursue a tranny swap, I am working on one for the SHO V6 and wouldn't mind including the V8 as well. You can PM me if you've got more questions about that.
