Hey everyone. My turn signals worked but wouldn’t manually reset.
Today they stopped working
The rest of the switch works, I’m curious if it’s worth it/ possible to take apart and repair or if I should just replace it.

There’s one on Rock Auto, is that the right one or should I just order from SHOsource.

Thanks in advance.

If the items are good the price isn't bad. Aftermarket brands like Standard are even cheaper if you consider those.

You can search the interwebs with the ford part numbers and the motorcraft one. All are in the motorcraft part listing on rock auto

Thank you. There are two on Rock Auto. The oem style one doesn’t list the sw-5592. The other one has the 5592, they both have matching parts numbers though.

Assuming it’s a fit.
Oem look first(which has the best warranty)
Other one bottom.

Thank you for the listing/part number

I usually go OEM Ford or Motorcraft replacement unless there is ample experience that aftermarket part performs and holds up. Just my rule of thumb.

It's been a lot of years since I had the one out in my former 1993 SHO, but I don't remember it being too bad to replace. If you have the wiring diagram, a DMM, and the ability to read the diagram and operate the DMM, you could bench test the switch and confirm the cancel feature of the switch assembly doesn't work before buying a new one. If you have the DMM and are interested in a bench test, but don't have the wiring diagram, I should be able to provide you with that.

Usually the little return springs break inside the switch. Likely some of the pieces got where they shouldn't have and caused the rest of the switch to malfunction. Easier to just replace it, because you won't be able to find those springs outside of getting a new switch.

Thank you everyone who replied, also thank you @BaySHO Performance for that diagram. I ordered a switch from RockAuto. OEM is probably best, however this has a 3year warranty.
If a replacement doesn't work, I'll use the diagram and further diagnose. @TimboSHO , thank you, I wasn't sure if it was worth tearing into, possible a simple fix.
