Does anyone know where I can get some replacement rubber holders for my mufflers, they are coming apart from age.

Any auto parts store will have universal hangers... as well as any (or most) muffler shops.

I'm sure there are... However, that's not to say you are limited to using SHO Specific parts.

FWIW, I've had about zero success finding any new rubber hangars that actually fit very well. I've resorted to snagging as many as I can during a junkyard run...any Taurus will have them.

Checker Auto has the exact rubber replacements. You'll have to convice the guy behind the counter to look them up in the book. The computer DOES NOT have them. I ordered mine last week and got them in 3 days. I replaced all of them for $35 and they fit perfect.

A good temporary fix if you need it is to just get a muffler clamp and clamp them back together. It won't look perfect, but will work fine until you can find what you want.

JJLUVS2FLY - I'll second hawkeye18's request.

Do you have the [Checker] part number for all the hangar insulators you were able to order?

Actually, there is one bracket (right rear muffler) and at least four other hanger numbers beside the first number you listed above. The second number you list, is for the ATX flex tube hanger (2 req.).

And I would still like those part number from Checkers, as all of the Ford OE SHO hangers are now obsolete part numbers - once the current inventory is gone, they're gone!

your original post states you wanted rubber holders, not brackets. and you must not have a good relationship with your ford parts man. just because they are obsolete dont mean they cant be had.....

Only one of the five OE hanger numbers I refered to is a 'hanger with bracket' (unibody rail, under rear driver-side door). There are also different OE part numbers for the right-rear muffler, depending on year application.

Obsolete means Ford no longer makes the part or maintains an active inventory of the part. That does not mean the part is not available through any of Ford's parts warehouses as NOS, individual dealer inventories, or other sources such as Vintage. I have a very good working relationship; and a 19MB excel database of NOS, discontinued, and obsolete parts, including a few items at the dealership in Alexandria Alabama. :thumb:

My point in asking for the Checkers part numbers, is to provide others with alternative sources since parts are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Having more than one source is rarely a bad-thing.
