Hello all,

Driving tonight after a downshift from 4th to 2nd and all of a sudden really hard to put into gears. Roll up to the light and couldn't get it back into first until a complete stop. Roll down a hill to my cousins house. No puddle underneath trans but I couldn't get it back into first gear or reverse without shutting car off, putting into gear then restarting car. Limped it back home luckily only about 4 miles. Clutch was feeling a little slippy for a few thousand miles prior to tonights problem. Was wondering if the clutch finally let go or if there is another major problem that could cause this.

Thanks in advance,

Likely that the throwout bearing ate through some of the clutch fingers.

Time for a new clutch. You ate through the pressure plate finger's. Been there, done that. Stop driving it to prevent internal tranny damage.

Hmmm...thanks for the info.

Got the car in the air and ready to start getting into it. Good thing I have other vehicles to drive for awhile. With living in New York i'm sure i'll break a few things along the way....
