Ok, I live in Gillette, Wyoming and it is around 10 degrees all day around here, and when I am down shifting into like 2nd or 1st it is really hard to get into those gears unless I am doing 20mph or slower. I change my tranny fluid with a syncromesh and added 1 bottle of lucas to see if that would help, and it is steal the same, any one have any ideas????
thanks

Terry's (twrsho) shifter has a nice feel to it after he put in 2 quarts of B&M trickshift and 1 quart of Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. I will do the same when I get my car back.

Sounds like your synchros are a bit worn. Unless you are good at double clutching and rev matching, you shouldn't be downshifting into first gear unless the car is nearly stationary. This is not a race box in our four door family sedan.

no i really don't release the clutch, i was just trying to put it into the gear to see how the tranny felt, because i just put it in and noticed it was kinda sticking or not going in easiely.

Blocking rings shrug I've heard they are the cause and the synchros in these cars are kind of strong and most of the time it comes out to be the blocking ring.

BTW, I have the same problem, but I don't care I 'm gettng the parts to put in and see what it does. Oh yea, I took mine to another level and it grinds when I downshift to 2nd gear at any speed limit, but can be done with out when I act like I'm going to third then come back and put it in 2nd, but I have to be under 15mph unless upshifting, I can take it to 20mph then do the little move and put in gear. Hope this helps.
