My 91 SHO was purchased with the knowledge that it was in need of clutch work. The TOB was making noise and it was difficult to shift into 1st and 2nd. I drove the car about 60 miles home with no further issues but the next day in town I seemed to lose the TOB completely. The clutch is always engaged and everything I read points me to the common problem with the TOB and PP fingers. After towing the car home and getting it on jack stands in the garage I noticed quite a bit of oil under the car. The oil looks like engine oil, not red like ATF. With the car running there is a burning smell and smoke coming from the trans almost immediately. There are no visible cracks or holes in the trans and being new to the SHO world I am wondering if there is any possibility the TOB or PP could have damaged the rear main or some other seal? I am praying that my diff is ok :angelnot:

you won't know until you pull it apart.

most likely the engine oil is leaking on the exhaust causing the burning smell and smoke, especially if it appears right away after engine start.

as long as you have it apart, do the front and rear main seals, valve cover gaskets, etc. so you have all that maintenance stuff done.
