92. mtx mark IV 5-speed. how do i fill and should i use atx fluid or like a 10W30 oil? and how may quarts. just got cleaned and new bearings and seals.

Use ATF fluid. I believe it is a little over 3 quarts. Basically, just fill it until it starts to come out the fill hole. Iv'e tried a # of fluids including Mobil 1, Syncromesh and Valvoline MAx life. Max Life worked the best for me, but different trans do better with different fluids. Have you installed a drain plug? If not I would recomend it so you can switch fluids easier if needed.

I just did filled my MTX twice this week lol, FYI its way easier to do when at least one wheel is off the ground.

My MTX developed a hard to shift into gear at rest issue after 30K miles on the Valvoline ATF. Went back to Mobil 1 ATF. No more problems.

Mobile 1 ATF here as well. It's reasonably priced and available just about anywhere.
