I'm told I need a new axle center bearing for my 94 MTX, obsolete PN E6DZ3K093B. I don't notice any symptoms but the trans shop said it was noisy when they ran it in gear up on the lift. Cannot locate this bearing so far. Anyone have any leads?

Post in the wanted to buy section here on the forum. Someone with a spare will help you out.

As suggested, post a WTB thread in the WTB section.

The intermediate shaft assembly is long since discontinued, and the bearing is not replaceable so the whole assembly has to be replaced.

Hey Chris, do you remember an old thread on here about a possible bearing replacement for the innermediate shaft? I thought someone had found one, the just weren't sure it was 100%.

Yea, I did... check O'Reily' auto's site.. they had one listed... dimensions and everything 'appear' ok.. but never tried it. I think it was called axle support bearing .. something odd like that.

For anyone that has access to a hydraulic press . . . .

For what ever reason, the intermediate shaft bearing was mounted with the source-manufacturer's information facing inward against the bracket. :ohreally:

While the bearing may no longer be available state-side, it might be possible to trace the bearing dimensions (I.D., O.D., width) to cross-reference against another bearing manufacturer.

If that thing wasn't so thin I'd put it in the press we got, but I'm afraid to bend it. I don't have a good set of calipers on hand but I'll ask my friend to bring em home and see if I can't measure the spare I have.

The dimensions are there on the Oreily site if anyone has something to measure with before this weekend, and you really wanna know.. :)

sdpatt used that bearing and had a shop press it in for him. Here's his post from 2004 with the bearing number. :thumb:

Yes, I know this is an older thread. I'm playing catch-up. :)
