I'll second R-Axles.

If you want an ATX and you're looking to sell the MTX for cheap let me know. :)

I'd buy some with a lifetime warrany, not like your going to snap them on the street with a stock SHO (assuming). I've heard bad about axles from NAPA, but Autozone and O'Reilly's both carry some nice ones for $59.99...cores like $25 at O'Reilly's (where I got mine). The price listed is for the MTX. The ATX is possibly the same or not, but not the same axles you'll need for the MTX. I don't have my manual but if I remember correctly, they have different measurements on the axles from the MTX to ATX.

I'm currently running with a passenger side rebuilt axle from Autozone. So far so good, 10k miles and counting. Stock SHO so no need for the heavy duty axles.

I second that. A rebuilt axle from any autoparts store will be more than sufficient unless you SERIOUSLY abuse your car.

I believe that the ATX axles are a bit longer than the MTX ones, but not by very much. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a set of halfshafts from Rockauto.com and they look identical, can't wait to put them on. In regards to the heavy duty axles...as Fred so eloquently put it, "I'd rather break a halfshaft than a tranny internal." I tend to agree with this philosophy. wink

I would rather spend the little extra up front to get quality, BRAND NEW CV joints instead of taking a risk with used in-who-knows-how-bad condition rebuilt axles. Do it once, do it right.

(I'm saying I would rather use the R-Axles than AZ rebuilt ones. thumb )
