i have two 89's both manuals. i just tookthe good one to a friend i know who is a svt specialist and he said that he can probably make one good from two beat up ones.. i belive him because he loves fords and has owned a sho in his past. i would just like to know if anyone can give me some tips on the best way to make my tranny worthy of the engine it is attached to. my biggest fear is that both tranny's are completly ****** and i will be looking for the stongest, best, and cheapest way to get a tranny that lasts. so if you have any tips on what i should do please share them as i am now afraid my baby won't be driven on the road until spring thank you johnny

the best thing to get for a tranny to last is a quaife limited slip differential. the rest USUALLY holds up to the abuse we dish out. but a stock diff WILL break, e-mail me for some gnarly pics of how they come apart.

The gears themselves seem to be fine, it's the diff. that is the weak point.

I've had 2 diff. punch a hole through the tranny.
